VOTE SERGIO SOTELO IN THE PRIMARY ON AUGUST 12
Nice to meet you!
My name is Sergio Sotelo.
Sergio Sotelo is a proud lifelong Utahn and the eldest of three children in a vibrant Mexican American family. From an early age, he embraced leadership, guided by the values of hard work, dedication, and loyalty that shaped his upbringing.
A graduate of East High School, Sergio experienced firsthand the realities of growing up in a working-class household. He began working at a young age and quickly learned the value of a dollar. For the past 15 years, he has built a respected career as a union electrician and is a dedicated member of IBEW Local 354, where he has served on numerous committees and actively contributed to union events and initiatives.
Sergio believes that too often, elected officials are disconnected from the communities they represent, prioritizing party politics over local needs. He is running for West Jordan City Council to help restore trust in local government and ensure that all voices are heard. His commitment to service is grounded in a belief that meaningful change begins at the local level.
Sergio and his wife, a small business owner who operates an accounting firm, have chosen to raise their two children in West Jordan. Their family, like so many others, juggles work, school, and extracurriculars—including soccer and interior design—with care and love. After thoughtful prayer and family discussion, Sergio is ready to step up and serve the city they call home.
He is proud to run for West Jordan City Council and is excited about the opportunity to represent and uplift his community.

Grounded in Community. Ready to Serve.
I’m running for City Council because I believe in people-powered leadership. My priorities are shaped by the voices of my neighbors — not party politics. From affordable housing to supporting local businesses to making our city safer and cleaner, I’m committed to showing up, listening, and taking action.
SUPPORT WORKING FAMILIES LIKE MINE
Too many families in our city are being priced out. I’ll fight to expand access to affordable housing options that meet the needs of working families and future generations.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Too many families in our city are being priced out. I’ll fight to expand access to affordable housing options that meet the needs of working families and future generations.
SMARTER TRAFFIC & TRANSPORTATION
Our city is growing, but our infrastructure isn’t keeping up. I’ll push for strategic traffic solutions, improved access to public transportation, and better roadways to keep our city moving.
PARK & PUBLIC SPACES
Our neighborhoods deserve clean, safe, and accessible green spaces. I’ll advocate for the development and improvement of parks and recreational areas so families have places to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
